What's 100 Days of Funding Tips?

Every year, there is a global project called #100DaysProject, where anyone from around the world can pick a project to and do it for 100 days — whether it’s picking up a new language, playing the guitar, coding skills or whatever tickles your fancy. My dear friend Elena Rossini told me and Monica Parker about this project and given that we are all in lockdown in France during the Covid-19 crisis and in need of doing a thing we care about to help others, the 3 musketeers (or actually part of the WonderWomen — but that’s another story for later) comitted to doing it. Each of us chose a theme and became accountability buddies for each other to see this through.
The 100 Days Project officially started on April 7th, and I’m starting today! Seeing as my life’s mission is to help get 1 Million Women Entrepreneurs Funded by 2030 (and more beyond!), I thought it might be useful to share practical Funding Tips for entrepreneurs, to energise, inspire and nudge you towards taking that next step on your journey to funding — and having some fun along the way!

Where do the Funding Tips Come From?

Over the next 100 Days, you’ll get great Funding Tips from Investors, Women Entrepreneurs who’ve successfully raised money as well as key players in the global funding ecosystem, be their Accelerator leaders, Crowdfunding , Key Funding event organisers, platform leaders and so much more. The point being, we want you to get great tips from the people who really do know about funding — from the inside out, and all sides of the table.
  • Read Elena’s 100 Days of Women in Film
  • Read Monica’s 100 Days of Awe — coming soon!

Why Are We Doing This Series?

Simple:
  • Because funding is the key fuel for startups, to help them grow and bring their unique products and services to the world to solve the world’s problems.
  • We want to put the spotlight on key movers and shakers in the global funding system you may or may not already know, all carefully chosen because they truly believe in and work towards more diversity in funding startups.
  • Because this is our chance now, to help build a new funding ecosystem and world post Covid-19, that’s more inclusive, open and conscious of the triple bottom line, not just crazy valuations and exits — but jobs, security, community and innovation on a more humane basis. Just so happens that women entrepreneurs are really great at doing that, and should have a proper seat at the funding table, on both sides, as investors and founders on the fundraise. And yes, sharing these tips can be a small step in the right direction, to help raise awareness about this.
  • Funding women entrepreneurs could add $5 Trillion to the global economy according to recent research from the Boston Consulting Group — and that was before this Covid-19 crisis. We will need women-led businesses more than ever now, so be part of our #1MillionInvestHers movement! This project is part of that campaign.

Each Funding Tip will have it’s own post here, so you can learn more about the person behind it, what they are doing and how to connect with them.

How Will These Funding Tips Help You Get Funded?

  • By giving you access to the best advice from highly respected people in the funding arena, who have your back, especially if you are a woman entrepreneur (altough male entrepreneurs will find them valuable too of course!).
  • Save time by getting down to what’s essential: Each person has taken the time to share their key tips with you, to give you their ‘funding nuggets’ so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel and go faster, on your funding journey.
  • You get more than just a quote — each blogpost shares more resources from that expert, to help guide you on what you need to know about fundraising, warts and all.

How Can You Get Featured?

Are you eager to share your own Funding Tip with the world?
  • Have you successfully raised funds,
  • supported founders on their funding journey or
  • are an investor in startups?

If so, I’d love to hear from you, and especially welcome people from all areas of diversity! All you need to do is tick the ‘I want to be featured’ box on the sign up page, or email the name and contact details of the person you recommend to info@globalinvesther.com
