About the Founders
We’re almost at the finish line of celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month! This week, we are featuring fierce Latinx founders whom all place emphasis on connection. Maite Muniz Telleria, Co-Founder of Truora, is heading up one of the leading companies on Latin America´s tech scene, with a mission to simplify and automate interactions between users in the digital world. Maria Burns Ortiz, Co-Founder & CEO at 7 Generation Games, is combining educational research, advanced game design and innovative technology into video games that produce results. Finally, we want to introduce you to Johanna Molina, Co-Founder & Head of Impact at The Intern Group, the award-winning social enterprise that takes top applicants and significantly improves their skills and employability via their international internship programs.
Truora
About Maite Muniz Telleria
Ex-consultant and economist Maite Muniz Telleria decided that the startup scene was the place for her. Passionate about product development and strategy, she wanted to combine the two to create the perfect playing field for stellar connection to take place between different users. She is a firm believer that technology is a powerful tool to make the intersection between gender and equality more even. Maite Muniz Telleria is using her creation, Truora, to make it happen!
“I’m also a firm believer that technology is a powerful tool to even out the playfield for gender and equality”
What They Do
Truora is paving the way on Latin America’s tech scene as they embrace their mission to simplify and automate interactions between users in the digital world. It’s all about connection and how one can streamline touch-points between users. 7 Genration Games
About Maria Burns Ortiz
Aside from having written an NY Time bestseller, Maria Burns Ortiz is all about making the world smarter through video games. Add a little bit of adventure to the mix and you have the perfect starting point for connecting students to a more exciting way to learn. Being a startup founder and tech entrepreneur isn’t always easy though; then, it’s a good thing that someone has written about sports, applying lessons learned about tenacity, grit and teamwork.
"one of my proudest recent moments was when we were on a video call for our Growing Math project and looking at the video conference screen, I noticed that our entire project team was women — and not only that but all Latinas or Indigenous women"
What They Do
What if you could combine the characteristics of an effective teacher and the engagement of an immersive video game to produce measurable math improvement in a single educational software? This is the equation the team at 7 Generation Games continues to ponder and improve on solving through their platform. By combining educational research, advanced game design and innovative technology into video games that produce results, 7 Generation Games enables students to engage in next level learning.

The Intern Group
About Johanna Molina
Johanna Molina has purpose and passion. She also has drive, in spades. Being a social entrepreneur, businesswoman, mentor, investor and activist tells that story beautifully. Her purpose is to help bridge the gap between talent and opportunity so that people can realise their potential. Her true passions are spreading knowledge about Colombia and venturing into start-ups. Couple this with her interest in redefining education, empowering women and high impact social entrepreneurship and you have a powerful result.
"I believe that we are what we think and that small actions lead to a big impact”
What They Do
The Intern Group is an award-winning social enterprise that takes top applicants and significantly improves their skills and employability via their international internship programs. Finding your place in today’s international labour market is not easy, and without a vast professional network, it might be even more challenging. The Intern Group has made it their business to facilitate connection between interns and potential internships, as they understand deeply how important international professional experience is in today’s job market.
