About the Event

Join Pivotl at Rise London for “The Future of Fintech”, an evening of lively discussion and insights. With keynote presentations from Funding Circle, TransferWise and Rise London and and rapid-fire pitches from four fintech startups looking to disrupt finance further, you’ll also have the chance to network with around 130 fintech professionals, startups and investors over complimentary beer, pizza and wine.

Taking on some well-established incumbents, TransferWise aims to make sending money abroad more transparent. Raising USD58m from Silicon Valley giant Andreessen Horowitz, the company is one of the most-vocal disruptors in UK fintech. Founded by former Skype employees, the company now sees more than GBP500m (USD765m) in transfers per month. Head of international growth and regulation Lukas May will tell us how the company continues to take the fight to the banks with a fairer deal for consumers.

 

  • David De Koning, Head of Comms at Funding Circle

Funding Circle is one of London’s most high-profile fintech businesses, providing peer-to-peer loans for small businesses not served by traditional finance. The firm has now lent USD1.2bn to 10,000 businesses and has referral partnerships with banks including RBS and Santander. Funding Circle raised USD150m in a round reportedly valuing the company at more than USD1bn in April. Head of comms David De Koning will walk us through the company’s remarkable growth story.
